Winter in a shelter in Lausanne: Every evening the same cruel ritual takes place at it’s entrance: The wardens must decide who of the numerous people in need is allowed to get in this night, who gets a place to sleep and a hot meal, and who has to stay outside – there are only 50 beds.
Director Fernand Melgar accompanied both – some of the people who fear not to getting in every day as well as the staff who fight with their boss for each additional bed. Most of the ones seeking for protection are asylum seekers and migrants. For many of them the bunker is the final destination of their hopes.
