Colombian portrait of a woman
Silvia is constantly tired. The lawyer and single mother is currently facing a many problems at once: Accusations of corruption at the office, problems at her 5-year-old son’s school and constant fights with her quarrelsome mother, whose cancer has returned after years with no chance of a cure left. When Silvia meets journalist Abel, she initially keeps him at arm’s length. There seeems to be no room for a relationship in her overwhelming every day life. But Abel is persistent.
Franco Lolli’s second film is a story carried by small emotional moments and runs wavelike like life itself. An intimate and tender yet unsentimental film with two outstanding leading actresses, neither of whom is a professional actress: Carolina Sanín is a well-known Colombian writer, Leticia Gomez is a retired lawyer and the director’s mother.
